Regional workshop on implementing Scaffolding tools

On November 22, 2024, a regional workshop on implementing Scaffolding tools was held as part of the annual plan of Vocational Education Center of East Kazakhstan region, jointly with the Regional Methodological Association of Methodologists. The workshop took place at Ust-Kamenogorsk Higher Polytechnic College and aimed at fostering innovation in technical and vocational, post-secondary education.   

Goal: to study and use the Scaffolding tools to develop competence-oriented tasks.

The workshop was attended by deputy directors for academic affairs, methodologists and college educators of East Kazakhstan region.

During the workshop, T. N. Kravchenko, Head of Natural Sciences and Humanities Department of Kostanay Higher Pedagogical College, presented on “Using Scaffolding to integrate digital competencies into the content of academic subjects”, highlighting the relevance of Scaffolding tools in lesson planning, integrating digital, personal and entrepreneurial skills. G.G. Sdykova, Deputy Director of N. Bekbosynov Mangystau Energy College, presented the role of a set of Scaffold cards as a means of boosting educators’ competency.

In the practical part of the workshop, Yu.V. Zubkova, Deputy Director for Academic Affairs of Ust-Kamenogorsk Construction College and E.S. Ekimova, Deputy Director for Educational and Methodological Work of Ust-Kamenogorsk Higher Polytechnic College demonstrated how to implement Scaffolding cards in the educational process and the participants developed lesson plans using Scaffolding cards.
