Dialogue platform to develop crime prevention mechanisms among minors

On April 7, 2023, Education Administration of East Kazakhstan region, jointly with the Regional Commissioner for Children's Rights A. Kalenova, organized a dialogue platform with the participation of the representatives of Police Department of East Kazakhstan region, the Prosecutor's Office of the region, Department for Education Quality Assurance of East Kazakhstan region, Department of National Security Committee of East Kazakhstan region, a deputy of the Regional Maslikhat, the representatives of the civil sector, the youth wing of Zhastar Rukhy, Board of Directors of educational organizations, the representatives of the parent community.

The goal of the dialogue platform is for all interested agencies and societies to develop effective methods and tools to prevent offences by and against minors.

During the event, law enforcement agencies commented that in connection with a high-profile case involving minors and college students, a criminal case was opened, and a case was initiated against persons involved in the illegal distribution of the high-profile video on social networks, work is underway to determine the circle of persons, involved in distribution.

The dialogue platform served as a tool in consolidating the forces of law enforcement agencies, educational organizations, the parent community, the non-governmental sector to address the issues of upbringing and prevention of self-destructive behavior of the younger generation.

Following the results of the event, A.A. Kalenova will develop a consolidated action plan for the prevention of offenses, taking into account the proposals of all participants.
