IMEI registration

A special Database was created in Kazakhstan. It stores information (IMEI code + subscriber number + IIN/BIN) required for registration, blocking and unlocking cellular communication devices.

Operators of cellular communication are engaged in filling of this "Database" and with its help carry out procedure of registration of phones. To register, you need to send data in response to the appropriate SMS from the operator, or contact the front office of the mobile service provider.

This work is carried out in connection with the requirements of the Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan "On Communications", which came into force on January 1, 2019, on compulsory registration of a cellular communication subscriber device.

The main task of the project is to provide a protective mechanism, which works as follows: when you change your SIM card, the "IMEI code + subscriber number + IIN/BIN" link in your phone is broken and the phone registration procedure is started, the IIN/BIN of the phone owner is compared with the IIN/BIN of the SIM card owner, if they match, the registration is considered successful and the phone works, otherwise the phone will be blocked.

At present, 55.8 million records are registered in the Database. At the same time, the Ministry recommends that you regularly check mobile numbers registered to your IIN independently by the service provided, and that you check the registration of your device's IMEI code yourself.
