Information about the relief situation in the North Kazakhstan region

To date, the religious situation in the North Kazakhstan region is characterized as stable. The positive dynamics of interaction between representatives of religious denominations in the region, who are understanding and show religious tolerance, remains.

127 religious associations and branches have been registered. (for reference: 54 — Islamic, 33 — Orthodox, 11 — Catholic, 2 — Presbyterian, 6 — Christian Baptists, 13 - Pentecostal churches, 4 — New Apostolic Church, 1 — Jehovah's Witnesses, 1 — Seventh—day Adventists, 1 - Evangelical Lutheran Church, 1 — "North Kazakhstan Regional the Krishna Consciousness Society").

There are 164 places of worship: (for reference: — mosques, 30 — Orthodox churches, 42 — Catholic churches, 1 — Presbyterian house of prayer, 11 — houses of prayer of Christian Baptists, 7 - Pentecostal churches of houses of prayer, 4 — temples of the New Apostolic Church, 1 — Hall of Kingdoms of Jehovah's Witnesses, 1 — Adventist House of Prayer The Seventh day, 4 — Evangelical Lutheran Church).

42 missionaries are officially registered, 38 of them are foreigners, 4 are citizens of the Republic of Kazakhstan (in the context of beliefs: Catholics -39, Hare Krishnas – 2, New Apostolic -1).

As part of the interaction with the clergy, a Club of leaders of religious associations is held on an ongoing basis for the further development of state-confessional relations. In 2023, 4 meetings of the Club were organized.

There are 16 regional information and explanatory groups in the region (region - 2, city — 1, district — 13) on religious issues, consisting of 97 people.

As a result of the work in 2023, 2,427 events of various formats were held by information and explanatory groups, covering 30,311 people. During this period, 892 events were held with young people, 23,340 young people were involved.

The IRG's activities are primarily focused on such target categories of the population as youth, believers, the unemployed, convicts and their family members, employees of private enterprises, trade, service, etc.

In 2023, 2 state social orders were implemented: "A set of measures aimed at introducing the values of Kazakh society among the clergy and the faithful of the region's population and strengthening interfaith relations", a two-day training seminar "Methods of organizing and conducting awareness-raising, counter-propaganda and rehabilitation work aimed at discrediting the ideology of religious extremism and terrorism".

10 videos on the prevention of religious extremism and terrorism have also been produced.

Since the beginning of the year, 309 IRG members have published in the regional print media, 4 materials have been published on the republican information portal Kazislam, 7 speeches by leading experts in the field of religion have been organized (Malgaraeva Z.B., Meymanova S.O., Nurmagambet N.A., Kenesbaeva A.A., Mustafina T.V., Toyganov M.S., Zhakiyanov D.Zh.) and 10 stories on regional television.

The Department of Religious Affairs provides 4 public services in the field of religious activity:

1. "Registration and re-registration of persons engaged in missionary activities";
2. "Issuance of a decision on approval of the location of special stationary premises for the distribution of religious literature and other information materials of religious content, objects of religious purpose";
3. "Issuing a decision on the construction of religious buildings (structures) determining their location";
4. "Issuance of a decision on the conversion (change of functional purpose) of buildings (structures) into religious buildings (structures)."

In 2023, 44 public services were provided in electronic format.

Work in this direction continues.
