CITY MAYOR GAVE A NUMBER OF INSTRUCTIONS TO HIS DEPUTIES
A meeting of the body of active functionaries of Shymkent city mayor's office was held on the implementation of the Address of the President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev "KAZAKHSTAN IN A NEW REALITY: TIME FOR ACTION".
At the meeting, the city mayor Murat Aitenov noted the priorities of the Address and the upcoming work in this direction. Murat Duisenbekuly drew attention to the issues of education and health, economic development in the new realities, improving the social welfare of citizens, environmental protection and gave specific instructions to his deputies.
There are all possibilities for turning Shymkent into a center for processing agricultural products. Agricultural products of Turkestan and Zhambyl regions can be processed in Shymkent and exported to domestic and foreign markets.
- There are enough educational institutions in the city to train specialists. There is a developed transport and logistics network. We are at the intersection of four roads. Therefore, it is necessary to force the formation of an agro-industrial zone. I instruct my Deputy Sattibayev Aibek Berikovich to develop a five-year plan for the development of industry and agriculture, " Murat Duisenbekovich said.
Also, one of the main priorities is the social well-being of citizens. In competitive business environment, the housing affordability for citizens is based on the availability of income and the ability to independently solve this problem. However, the state directly supports housing construction. 262 multi-storey buildings with an area of 1 million square meters are under construction in Shymkent. (126 of them are private commercial projects, a total of 6147 apartments). Now, about 40 thousand people are in the queue for housing in the city. This year, 976 of them will be provided with housing.
The city mayor instructed Bauyrzhan Mamytaliyev to develop a five-year plan for providing the population in the queue for housing.

Public authorities should combine assessments of population size and the pace of housing construction.
