In 2019, the share of the adult population speaking the state language in Shymkent was 92.3%, the adult population speaking Russian was 85.8%, and the population speaking English was 21.9%.
This year, 141 groups were organized, of which 520 were taught Kazakh, 133-Russian, 773-English and 578-Latin. 551 of them are government employees, and 1453 are budget employees. National structure: 1658 Kazakhs, 188 Russians, 75 Uzbeks, and 83 other ethnic groups.
