The budget of a city of republican significance is a centralized monetary fund, formed at the expense of revenues determined by this Code, and intended to financially support the tasks and functions of local state bodies of the regional level, a city of republican significance, the capital, state institutions subordinate to them and the implementation of state policy in the corresponding administrative territorial unit. The budgets of cities of republican significance, the capital are approved by decisions of maslikhats. (Article 8 of the Budget Code)
