Control over the Regime of Territorial and Internal waters

Within the limits of territorial waters (sea) and internal waters, the regime of territorial waters (sea) and internal waters operates, which establishes the procedure:

• accounting, maintenance, exit and return to the stationing site, stay on the water of Kazakhstani small-sized self-propelled and non-self-propelled (surface and submarine) vessels (vehicles) and vehicles on ice in territorial waters (sea) and inland waters;
• navigation (operation) in the territorial waters (sea) and internal waters of Kazakhstani vessels, foreign vessels and warships, vehicles on ice;
• conducting in territorial waters (sea) and inland waters of commercial, research, prospecting or other activities, including those aimed at preserving natural mineral or living resources of the continental shelf.

The regime of territorial waters (sea) and internal waters is established by the Law "On the State Border of the Republic of Kazakhstan" and international treaties ratified by the Republic of Kazakhstan.

The main purpose of the regime of territorial waters (sea) and internal waters is to create the necessary conditions for the protection of the State Border.
