— In fact, the revival of the Republic Day as a national holiday is an important step from the point of view of statehood and sovereignty, since during the period of totalitarianism we almost lost our traditions, language and religion. Thanks to Independence, we were able to revive and strengthen our values.
The adopted Declaration on the State Sovereignty of Kazakhstan proclaimed the principle of independent solution of political, economic and social problems. The Republic received the right to create its own internal troops, state security bodies and internal affairs. And the President was recognized as the head of the country.
I am impressed by the words of the Head of State Kassym-Jomart Tokayev: «The independence of Kazakhstan is the most important thing for us. In this unstable world, Kazakhstan is not needed by anyone but us. Therefore, for me there is nothing more valuable than the well-being of my country and the integrity of my land».
This is a great day when the dream of our ancestors came true, which gave Kazakhstan freedom.
