Culture – The Mirror of Humanity
Culture is a vivid reflection of a people's life, its spiritual mirror. A person's cultural level is manifested not only in upbringing but also in respect for society. To give light and warmth to others, to lift spirits with a kind word – this is to show true humanity. And what do we understand by culture in a societal sense? It is a sphere that keeps pace with the life of every region and unites people in joint activities.
Today, in all regions of the country, the cultural sphere is actively developing, with many events aimed at its revival and strengthening being held. One such institution is the Shengeldi Rural House of Culture. Under the leadership of Itemgenova Tolqynai Zhuparbekkyzy, the House of Culture earns recognition and gratitude from the village residents annually.
The building of the rural House of Culture was constructed in 1987. It features an auditorium with 220 seats and a small hall with 100 seats. Furthermore, the building houses a library and offices for conducting various clubs. In 2010, the institution underwent major renovations, and today its appearance is impressive. The village residents express sincere gratitude to this cultural hub. On the eve of holidays, various events are regularly held here, filling the hall with spectators. In 2026, another major renovation of the building is planned.
The work of the House of Culture deserves special attention. Currently, four clubs are active: a dance club led by G. Yerzhanova, a dombra club led by M. Mukhamedzhanov, and a pop music club led by K. Zhakupov. The total number of participants is 70 people.
Additionally, since 2010, the ensemble Shengeldi Trio, created by R. K. Medeubaev, K. Zh. Zhakupov, and B. S. Segizbaev, has been active. The ensemble is led by R. K. Medeubaev. Also working at the House of Culture is the ensemble Asyl Azheler, consisting of A. Adambekkyzy, Zh. Nysanbaikyzy, A. Kasenkyzy, S. Maktapkyzy, and B. Abdymanatkyzy. The group is led by Kh. A. Makulbekova. These creative groups adorn all festive events, give the audience a good mood, and receive well-deserved applause.
The institution is not limited to festive concerts alone but also actively conducts socially significant events. For instance, 104 cultural events were organized in 2025. This year, a tour by the ensembles "Asyl Azheler" and "Shengeldi Trio" with the concert program "Souls Conversing with Music" to neighboring villages is planned. In 2027, a large-scale anniversary concert dedicated to the 40th anniversary of the House of Culture will take place.
It is worth noting the contribution of the institution's leader, Tolqynai Zhuparbekkyzy, who for 10 years has dedicated herself to the development of this cultural hub with over 39 years of history. A native of the Zhambyl region, possessing a great love for art, she skillfully plays the flute and captivates listeners with her beautiful voice. In her work, she pays special attention to team cohesion and mutual respect.
The employees of the Shengeldi Village House of Culture also actively participate in cultural events in the city of Konayev, taking part in festive evenings, competitions, and creative projects, honing their skills.
The village residents sincerely wish the House of Culture further development, prosperity, and new creative achievements.
