The suspect, who had been hiding for 13 years for gang rape, was extradited from Kyrgyzstan

Employees of the General Prosecutor's Office of the Republic of Kazakhstan have extradited a citizen of Kazakhstan from the Kyrgyz Republic to face criminal charges for gang rape.

In 2012, in the Zhambyl region, the suspect, along with six other people, invited two girls to an event, mixed clofeline into their drinks and, making them helpless, performed sexual intercourse against their will.

The accomplices of the crime had previously been sentenced to various terms of punishment, with the exception of the defendant, who disappeared and was wanted for 13 years.

In April of this year, he was detained in Bishkek and, at the request of the General Prosecutor's Office of the Republic of Kazakhstan, extradited to his homeland.

Currently, the suspect has been placed in a pre-trial detention center.

The penalty for committing the crime he is charged with is imprisonment for a period of five to ten years.
