Thus, by the verdict of the Korday district court, four residents of the Turkestan region were sentenced to 7 years in prison for stealing a girl, and the car was confiscated as a criminal means and turned into state revenue.

The incident began in the fall of 2018 with the acquaintance of a guy with a girl who lives in the village of Korday, Zhambyl region.

Short communication of young people through social networks led the guy to the idea of stealing the girl. For a long time without thinking, the guy with the purpose of marriage, having agreed with his three friends, arrived in the Kordai district by car.

Upon arrival, calling the girl's mobile phone offered a meeting, but she refused.

Without leaving the idea of theft, the young people began to monitor the girl's house and met her on the street.

Despite the girl's refusal and resistance, they forcibly put her in a car and drove to the Turkestan region. However, they were stopped and detained by police officers when leaving the city.

If earlier theft of the bride was in the Kazakh traditions, then according to the requirements of modern times, it is a crime.

In this regard, the Prosecutor's office of the region explains that for ill-considered actions of guys to kidnap brides, serious consequences can follow in the form of a conviction of up to fifteen years in prison.

In this case, the person who voluntarily released the kidnapped person is released from criminal liability, if his actions do not contain the elements of another crime.
