At the end of last week, amendments to the current legislation on improving the law enforcement system came into force.
In accordance with these amendments, persons who intentionally inflicted slight harm to the health of another person, as well as inflicted beatings, will not bear criminal responsibility, as it was before, but administrative responsibility.
The procedure for filing a complaint has changed. If earlier the victim, acting as a private prosecutor in a criminal case, had to prove the guilt of the person who caused harm to his health, now this obligation has completely fallen on the local police.
The possibility of termination of these cases in connection with reconciliation is provided.
Now a person who has caused minor harm to the health of another person faces a fine in the amount of fifteen monthly calculation indices (34,035 tenge) or administrative arrest for up to fifteen days, and for committing this offense again within a year - administrative arrest without alternative for up to twenty days ...
For beatings, i.e. for inflicting physical pain that did not entail minor harm to health, less severe administrative liability is provided in the form of a fine in the amount of ten monthly calculation indices (22,690 tenge) or administrative arrest for up to ten days, for repeated - administrative arrest for up to fifteen days ...
