Supreme supervision of compliance with the rule of law on the territory of the Republic of Kazakhstan on behalf of the state

Protection of human rights to a fair trial, humane treatment and respect for dignity in the execution of criminal penalties and the use of other measures of state coercion;
promoting the formation of a uniform judicial practice and a balanced criminal policy with the priority of correcting and re-socializing convicts;
identification and elimination of violations of the law, reasons and conditions that contribute to them, as well as their consequences;
supervision over the legality of judicial acts in criminal cases that have entered into legal force;
supervision over the legality of the execution of criminal punishments and the detention of persons in pre-trial detention centers and guardhouses;
analysis of judicial practice in criminal cases and the state of legality in the field of execution of criminal sentences;
analysis and coordination of the work of lower-level prosecutors to maintain the state prosecution and participate in the courts of appeal in criminal cases;
participation in the development of draft laws and other legal acts in the field of criminal policy, criminal proceedings and the execution of criminal penalties.
