1. Protection and restoration of the rights and freedoms of man and citizen, the legitimate interests of legal entities, society and the state in the criminal prosecution, the OSA (operative-search activity) and the CIA (counterintelligence activity);
2. Identification and elimination of violations of the law in the implementation of criminal prosecution, OSA, CIA, reasons and conditions that contribute to them;
3. Coordination of law enforcement and special state bodies in the implementation of criminal prosecution;
4. Analysis of the quality of criminal prosecution and the OSA;
5. The development of measures aimed at promoting the formation of good uniform practice in the implementation of criminal prosecution, the OSA and the CIA;
6. Preparation of materials for meetings of the board of the General Prosecutor's Office, the Coordinating Council of the Republic of Kazakhstan on ensuring the
rule of law, law and order and the fight against crime, operational and hardware meetings;
7. Organization of the activities of subordinate prosecutor's offices to ensure the legality of criminal prosecution, the OSA and the CIA;
8. Participation within the competence in the rule-making activity.
