Human Rights Ombudsman Artur LASTAYEV summarized the work of regional representatives and the National Center for Human Rights

         On April 25, 2023, under the chairmanship of Ombudsman Artur Lastayev, a quarterly meeting was held with the participation of regional representatives and the National Center for Human Rights.

         The results for three months were summarized and priorities for the coming period were identified.

         The representatives were instructed to work more actively with the National Preventive Mechanism, to analyze existing legislation for correlation with the international obligations in the field of human rights, to visit closed institutions, to respond effectively to the complaints, to conduct personal appointments, to comply strictly with ethics and anti-corruption legislation.

         The results of individual representatives were noted positively, and it was instructed to disseminate their experience throughout the regions.

         In conclusion, the Ombudsman stressed the need for systematic and quality work, recalling that one of the main tasks of the Ombudsman is to correct injustices committed against the person.
