About the meeting of the Prosecutor General and the Commissioner for Human Rights with the Chief Ombudsman of Turkey

Nur-Sultan, June 22, 2022 – Prosecutor General Berik Asylov met with the Chief Ombudsman of Turkey Sheref Malkoch, as well as the Commissioner for Human Rights in the Republic of Kazakhstan Elvira Azimova.

The foreign guest was informed about the ongoing constitutional reforms initiated by the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

In particular, the Prosecutor General spoke about the work on the draft Constitutional Law "On the Prosecutor's Office", which includes mechanisms for interaction with the Commissioner for Human Rights and other human rights institutions, as well as functions to counter torture and other novelties.

The Ombudsman noted the special role of the supervisory authority in the work on the protection and restoration of human and civil rights and freedoms in Kazakhstan.
