Work meeting of the Ombudsman of Kazakhstan with the Special Representative of the European Union for Central Asia

March 29, 2022 – As part of the visit of the Ombudsman of Kazakhstan to Brussels, Elvira Asimova held a number of bilateral meetings with high representatives of the European External Action Service (EEAS) and key structures of the European Parliament.

During the conversation with the Special Representative of the European Union for Central Asia Terhi Hakala, issues of support by European institutions for Kazakhstan's initiatives and projects aimed at improving the judicial and penal correction system of the Republic of Kazakhstan were discussed.

Special attention was paid to the interaction of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the EU within the framework of such thematic dialogue mechanisms in the field of human rights as the Human Rights Dialogue, the Subcommittee on Justice, and the Rule of Law, and the CA-EU Civil Forum.
