The Local police service is one of the main directions of the internal affairs agencies.

Tasks of the Local police service:

1. prevention of offences;
2. public order protection;
3. ensuring road safety;
4. proceedings in cases of administrative offences;
5. prevention and suppression of criminal offences.

Functions of the Local police service:

1. implementation of comprehensive measures aimed at identifying, studying, and eliminating the causes and conditions that contribute to the commission of offences;
2. implementation of comprehensive measures to protect public order;
3. implementation of state control and supervision over road traffic and ensuring its safety;
4. implementation of proceedings in cases of administrative violations;
5. investigation of criminal misconduct;
6. ensure the reception and conditions of detention of persons subjected to administrative arrest and persons without a fixed place of residence and/or identity documents.
