Ust-Kamenogorsk Titanium and Magnesium Plant

Ust-Kamenogorsk Titanium and Magnesium Plant is the flagship of non-ferrous metallurgy in Kazakhstan, which successfully carries out deep integration with global producers and consumers of titanium. Today, the company employs more than 2,000 people.

JSC "Ust-Kamenogorsk titanium and magnesium plant" is a vertically integrated producer of titanium from the extraction of raw materials to the production of products with high added value. The main types of commercial products of the plant are: sponge titanium, primary magnesium in ingots, titanium ingots and alloys. The products of JSC "UKTMK" are certified by all manufacturers of the aerospace industry in the world. Currently, 100% of UKTMK's products are exported to industrially developed countries such as the United States, great Britain, Russia, France, South Korea, India and China.

The purpose of this program is to expand the range of products, organize a new conversion of titanium production, as well as automate and robotize production processes with the training of appropriate specialists.

One of the promising directions in the domestic titanium industry is the production of products for oil and gas engineering, the production of titanium-coated pipes and titanium powders for additive manufacturing.

Taking into account the biological inertia of titanium, in the near future it is planned to create an enterprise for the production of bioimplants and medical instruments.

The company achieved such indicators through the launch of investment projects under the industrialization program and the creation of three joint ventures (UKAD and ecotitanium-France, POSUK Titanium LLP in South Korea). In its activities, the company pays primary attention to innovation and the constant development and implementation of innovative technologies (produces 14 types of titanium alloys).

In 2019, the volume of gross production of titanium sponge increased by 44% compared to 2018. In 2019, the volume of production of titanium ingots and alloys increased by 4% compared to 2018. The increase in production volumes of JSC "UKTMK" for the period 2018-2019 is due to an increase in demand in the aerospace and industrial markets.

To date, the company has developed a development strategy until 2033, within which a number of investment projects are being implemented.
