Agricultural science is a comprehensive field of knowledge that studies the developmental patterns of plants and animals, as well as their interactions with the environment, for the purpose of agricultural production. Its primary goal is to improve the efficiency, quality, and environmental safety of food and raw material production.
Currently, the agricultural science system of the Republic of Kazakhstan is represented by the National Agrarian Scientific and Educational Center (hereinafter referred to as NASEC), whose key objective is to promote the innovative development of the agro-industrial complex by conducting scientific research and training personnel for the agricultural sector.
The NASEC structure comprises 33 organizations, including three higher education institutions, 11 research institutes and research and production centers, 17 agricultural experimental stations and farms, and two service companies. NASEC organizations are represented in all regions of the country.
The main activities of the National Scientific and Educational Center and its subsidiaries are the development and implementation of modern technologies in the agro-industrial complex, the transfer and dissemination of scientific knowledge, and the training and retraining of highly qualified specialists who meet the demands of the labor market.
