The order of stay:

• On March 19, 2025, the Agreement on Mutual Exemption from Visa Requirements between the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Government of the Kingdom of Morocco entered into force. Passport validity:

• The passport must not expire less than 6 months after the end of the trip.

Customs control:

• Allowed for import without declaration:

  • Personal items: clothes, shoes, cosmetics, cameras, laptops, phones, books, and other personal items.

  • Money: up to 100,000 Moroccan dirhams (~10,000 USD) without declaration.

  It is forbidden to import:

  • Narcotic substances and psychotropic drugs.

  • Animals, plants and products of their origin without sanitary certificates.

  Import restrictions:

  • Medicines: allowed to be imported only for personal use, if necessary – with a prescription from a doctor.

  It is forbidden to export:

  • Antiques and cultural heritage items without special permission.

  • Rare species of animals and plants protected by international agreements (CITES).

Medical insurance:

• The purchase of a medical insurance policy for the period of stay abroad will allow you to insure against an accident during the trip and avoid the cost of unforeseen medical expenses in the event of an insured event.

• It is recommended to follow basic hygiene rules: wash your hands regularly, avoid close contact with sick people.

Established norms of behavior:

• During your stay in Morocco, you are subject to its laws, which you must strictly observe. Ignorance of the laws of the country does not exempt from responsibility.

  • Follow generally accepted standards of ethics and morality, and respect local traditions and culture.

  • Morocco is a Muslim country, so it is worth observing moderation in clothing, especially for women in public places.

• Finance:

  • Visa and Mastercard are accepted in Morocco, but UnionPay and American Express may not work.

  • It is recommended to have cash dirhams, as electronic payments are not common in small shops and markets.

• Electronic payments: Apple Pay and Google Play do not work everywhere, it is better to check in advance at the establishments.

• Communications and the Internet:

  • For convenience, purchase a local SIM card (operator Maroc Telecom, Orange, Inwin).

  • Mobile Internet packages are available to tourists, roaming can be expensive.

• VPN: Some websites and services may be blocked in Morocco, it is recommended to install a VPN in advance.

• Climate and clothing:

  • It's hot in Morocco in summer, so wear light clothes, hats, and sunscreen.

• Transport:

About consular registration:

• Citizens of the Republic of Kazakhstan who have arrived in a foreign country for the purpose of study, work or permanent residence are recommended to register for consular registration at the nearest Kazakh diplomatic mission or consular institution.
• Consular registration will allow you to resolve many issues without leaving for Kazakhstan (participation in elections and referendums, passport registration, civil registration, etc.), and will also facilitate your evacuation in the event of military operations, riots, or natural disasters in the host country.

In case of detention by law enforcement agencies:

• In case of unforeseen circumstances (detention by local law enforcement agencies, threats from other persons, traffic accidents, etc.), you have the right to request a meeting with an employee of the Kazakh consular institution in the host state.
• Do not sign any protocols or other documents in a foreign language in the absence of the staff of the consular institution of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
