Kazakhstan’s Republic Day Celebrated in Geneva

Geneva, 23 October 2026 – The Permanent Mission of the Republic of Kazakhstan to the United Nations Office and other International Organizations in Geneva hosted a reception to mark the country’s national holiday – Republic Day.

The event brought together heads of international organizations, heads of diplomatic missions, representatives of Switzerland’s official, business and academic circles, as well as members of the Kazakh community residing in the country.

In his welcoming remarks, Permanent Representative of Kazakhstan Erzhan Kazykhan congratulated his compatriots on the national holiday, highlighting the country’s achievements, ongoing political and socio-economic reforms, as well as Kazakhstan’s growing standing on the international stage.

The Ambassador underscored Kazakhstan’s commitment to the principles of multilateralism, the peaceful resolution of conflicts and constructive dialogue. Particular attention was given to the country’s initiatives in the areas of disarmament and non-proliferation, international humanitarian law and sustainable development. In this context, the important role of Geneva as one of the world’s leading centres of multilateral diplomacy and a key platform for advancing Kazakhstan’s foreign policy priorities was highlighted.

The cultural programme featured a performance by Kazakhstan’s ethno-fusion ensemble “Magic of Nomads”, which presented compositions combining the sound of traditional Kazakh instruments with contemporary musical elements.

The traditional Kazakh yurt – a symbol of nomadic civilization and hospitality – attracted particular interest among the guests. National decorations, a photo exhibition and Kazakh cuisine complemented the festive atmosphere, offering participants an opportunity to discover Kazakhstan’s cultural heritage and contemporary identity.

The reception provided an important platform for strengthening ties with the international diplomatic community and promoting Kazakh culture.
