At the end of 12 months 2019 road transport carried 17.6 million passengers, 4% more than in 2018 (2018 - 16.9 million pass.) and transported cargo, 2.6 million tons, which is 5% higher than in 2018 (2018 – 2.4 million tons).
In Mangystau region passenger traffic busy 30 automobile companies, 6 of them serve urban, 7 Interdistrict (long-distance intraregional), 16 intra, 1 inter-provincial routes.
Transportation of passengers by road is carried out on 49 regular routes, including: urban (suburban) - 18, inter-district (intra-regional intercity) - 13, intra-district-17, inter-regional intercity-1. There are about 400 buses operating on the routes of the region.
In the region, out of 58 localities where more than 1,000 people live, 16.6 % are not covered by regular bus services.
On the territory of the region there are:
- 3 bus stations: in the city of Aktau, Zhanaozen and in the village of Shetpe;
- 1 bus station: in the village of Beineu.
