According to the operational data of the Committee on Statistics of the Ministry of National Economy of the Republic of Kazakhstan for January-June 2019, the total volume of retail turnover amounted to 78.7 billion tenge, which is 101.1% more compared to the corresponding period last year.
Currently , the region operates:
- 29 markets with 8058 retail outlets, with a total area of 181,233 sq.m.;
- 71 supermarkets with a total retail area of 50,648 sq.m.;
- 2 hypermarkets with a total retail area of 15,300 sq.m.
The consumer price index for goods and services for June 2019 by December 2018 amounted to – 103.6% (RK-102.6%), including food products – 105.5% (RK-105.9%), non–food products - 102.4% (RK-102.2%) and paid services -100.4% (RK-99.1%).
According to the Statistics Committee of the Ministry of National Economy of the Republic of Kazakhstan for January-June this year, the consumer price index for socially significant food products (19 items) was - 107.3% (RK - 108.0%).
To ensure food security, prevent sharp fluctuations in prices and the formation of a shortage of goods, a set of the following measures is being taken.
On a weekly basis, the Akimat of the region, together with the Department of Statistics, monitors prices for NWT.
In cities and districts, fairs of agricultural producers and wholesale suppliers are held weekly for the population of the region, where products are sold without intermediaries at prices 15-20% lower than the market. Since the beginning of the year, 196 fairs have been held, the amount of products sold amounted to 245 million tenge.
Within the framework of cross-border cooperation in order to reduce the prices of fruit and vegetable products, since March of this year, work has begun on the organization of direct deliveries from the Khorezm region of the Republic of Uzbekistan and fairs of these products were held in cities and districts of the region for the population at prices below market by 20%.
Since the beginning of this year, 214 retail facilities have signed Memoranda "On preventing unjustified price increases for socially important food products."
To monitor and control the current situation, a meeting of the regional headquarters for ensuring food security and rapid response to price increases is held on a weekly basis, a plan of operational measures to stabilize prices for NWT and a media plan for media coverage of the situation on prices have been approved.
Issues of price stability for socially important food products are under constant control.
Information on fuel and lubricants.
According to the results of weekly monitoring of prices for fuels and lubricants (hereinafter referred to as fuel), the average price in the region for fuel is: AI-92/93 - 153 tenge per liter, AI-95 - 169 tenge per liter, diesel fuel -192 tenge per liter.
There are 48 gas stations in the region (hereinafter referred to as gas stations).
According to the monthly supply plan by the Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Kazakhstan for the first half of this year, the following volumes of fuel and lubricants have been allocated for private gas stations (except for the KazMunayGas Onimderi gas station) in the Mangystau region:

Today, the average monthly consumption of fuel in the Mangystau region is: Ai-92- 8500 tons, diesel fuel - 8000 tons.
Development of electronic commerce.
In the first half of this year, the Regional Chamber of Entrepreneurs of the Mangystau region conducted a brief training on digital and financial literacy and e-commerce for 435 entrepreneurs as part of the training on the basics of entrepreneurship "Business Advisor", as well as seminars on "Practical classes on working on the e-procurement portal" for 23 entrepreneurs.
In addition, on May 23 this year, the Department of Entrepreneurship and Trade of the Mangystau region, together with Kazpost JSC, held a training seminar on the topic "Development of e-commerce". The seminar was attended by 100 SMEs.
Currently, 12 online stores have been created in the region.
There are 4,125 POS terminals, 551 ATMs, 451 payment terminals and bank kiosks installed for non-cash payments.
