Mangistau region is considered to be the ancestor of the financial system of the Peninsula. November 1, 1939 by the decision of the CEC of the Kazakh SSR and the decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the Kazakh SSR.

The first head of the financial Department was Kuspan Karabasov. Two years later, he became the Chairman of the district Executive Committee. If the 2006 budget Mangistau district was 945,599 thousand tenge, in 2016-8,424,157 thousand tenge, that is, it increased almost 10 times. 80% of the district's budget is generated from its own revenues.
