As of April 1, 2026, the population is 846.4 thousand people, of which the urban population is 399.8 thousand people (47.2%).
The region consists of 7 districts, 1 city of regional significance (Kyzylorda) and 2 cities of district significance (Aral, Kazaly).
As of the beginning of 2025, the ethnic composition: Kazakhs - 96.3%, Russians - 1.4%, Koreans - 0.9% and others - 1.4%.
The volume of industrial production amounted to 363.4 billion tenge, with a growth index of 100.0%.
The volume of manufacturing industry production amounted to 139.1 billion tenge, with a growth index of 109.3%.
In 2026, it is planned to implement 12 projects aimed at increasing the output of the manufacturing industry, with a total cost of 42.4 billion tenge.
The total volume of agricultural output amounted to 22.1 billion tenge, or 103.3% compared to the corresponding period in 2025.
The volume of investments in fixed capital is 187.2 billion tenge, with a growth index of 110.1%.
The volume of construction work amounted to 68.9 billion tenge, or 127.5% compared to the corresponding period in 2025. 190.6 thousand square meters of residential housing were commissioned (an increase of 1.8%).
The total trade volume increased by 2.5%, amounting to 277.9 billion tenge.
The number of operating small and medium-sized business entities is 59.5 thousand units, with a growth index of 92.3% compared to the corresponding period last year.
In 2026, a total of 2400.4 million tenge was allocated for the implementation of state support measures for private entrepreneurship, including: for subsidizing interest rates on loans - 1989.5 million tenge, for partial guarantees - 337.1 million tenge, for providing state grants to social entrepreneurship entities - 73.8 million tenge.
Local budget's own revenues amounted to 54,700 million tenge, which is an increase of 2.2% or 1,194 million tenge compared to the corresponding period in 2025.
