SOLID WASTE MANAGEMENT:
The region is working on 3 main indicators in the field of waste management of the Concept for the transition of the Republic of Kazakhstan to a "green economy".
1st. Share of solid waste disposal to their formation:
On the territory of the region there are 41 business entities in the field of transportation, collection, processing and disposal of waste.
(For reference: 22-solid household waste, 9-oil waste, 8-medical waste, 2-mercury-containing waste).
During the reporting period, 117.0 thousand tons of solid household waste were generated, of which 21.0 thousand tons were processed. The share of processing was 18 %.
Currently, "Ibraikhan & Co LTD" LLP produces paving stones for pedestrian roads, "Smart Rubber" LLP produces hoses for drip irrigation from worn-out unsuitable car tires, "Kyzylorda Kagazy" LLP produces toilet paper for household needs, "dazhaer" LLP IP "August", "Aimyrzayev", "Ayan" carry out sorting and collection of waste paper, cardboard, plastic, plastic.
2nd. Coverage of the population with services for the collection and placement of solid waste:
70.8 % of the region's population is provided with solid waste transportation services (the region's population is more than 801 thousand).
For landfills that meet environmental and sanitary requirements:
There are 145 landfills in the region, of which 7 landfills meet environmental requirements. (Percentage share - 4.82 %)
Design and estimate documentation is being developed for the construction of a landfill for sorting solid waste in Zhalagash and Shieli districts (For reference: Shieli village-10.0 million tenge, Zhalagash village-5.0 million tenge).
A land plot was allocated for the construction of a landfill for sorting solid waste in the village of Zhanakorgan.
Ongoing projects in 2020:
Funds were allocated from the regional budget for the construction of a landfill for the placement of solid waste in the city of Aralsk and construction work was completed in December 2020. The total cost of the project is 179.5 million tenge (156.9 million tenge was allocated from the budget)
. The capacity of the landfill is 37.8 thousand tons per year. The land area of 6.2 hectares. It is located at a distance of 4 km from the city of Aralsk.
Currently, construction has been completed, and work is underway to transfer it to communal ownership.
Also, according to the PPP mechanism, work on the construction of a solid waste landfill, a waste sorting complex and the implementation of external engineering networks in the city of Kyzylorda has been completed. The total cost of the project is 1.2 billion tenge. The new landfill is located 4 km from the village of Belkul, with an area of 20.0 hectares. The capacity of solid waste processing is 60 tons / year. 40 new jobs were created. The complex has been put into operation.
In addition, in order to build the local population's culture of conservation, nezarazene environment and conduct special monitoring with the participation of members of the public Council, volunteers and staff management in human settlements Zhalagash, Syrdarya, Syrdarya districts conducted raids and sent notice to the Governor's offices about the clean up of illegal dumps.
