Combat service

Units of the patrol and guard service ensure safety and order in 19 cities of the country. Every year, personnel of the security forces carry out the security of several hundred social, political, cultural and sports events, including those of international importance, such as: holding the OSCE Summit, EXPO-2017, the Asian Games, the Congress of World Religions leaders and other important for the country events.

Correctional Facilities Security

The units of the National Guard are entrusted with the tasks of protecting institutions of the penitentiary system of medium security, maximum security, emergency security, mixed security, with the exception the institutions intended for serving sentences of convicted women and minors, prisons and pre-trial detention centers.

Protection of important government facilities and special cargo

Units of the National Guard provide protection for critical facilities, including nuclear facilities, a banknote factory, the Institute of Nuclear Physics, and power supply facilities.

Emergency response

Since January 2015, in accordance with the Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan "On the National Guard of the Republic of Kazakhstan", civil defense military units have been included to the National Guard and the responsibilities for participation in rescue and urgent work have been assigned.

Special Forces Unit "B"

Subdivisions of special purpose "B" are involved in special operations to neutralize armed criminals, terminate the activities of illegal paramilitary or armed formations (groups), organized criminal groups (communities) on the territory of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

Participate in the suppression of grave and especially grave crimes, sabotage, acts of terrorism, armed clashes and the separation of the warring parties.
