To coordinate the activities of internal audit services in accordance with the Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan “On State Audit and Financial Control,” the East Kazakhstan Department of Internal State Audit (hereinafter – the Department) provides ongoing consultative support to the internal audit services of the East Kazakhstan Region Akimat Office and the East Kazakhstan Police Department.
At the same time, the Department exercises oversight over the compliance of internal audit services with the standards and rules for conducting internal state audit and financial control.
In 2024, the internal audit service of the East Kazakhstan Region Akimat Office conducted 40 audit activities in the fields of education, healthcare, natural resources and environmental regulation, and agriculture. The internal audit service of the East Kazakhstan Police Department conducted 1 audit activity in the field of the penal system.
The Department carried out quality control of 40 internal audit service reports for compliance with state audit and financial control standards. As a result, all 40 audit materials were deemed compliant with comments (including 11 from 2023 and 29 from 2024).
For 2025, the internal audit service of the East Kazakhstan Region Akimat Office has planned 20 audit activities. As of today, quality control of internal audit materials for the first 9 months of the current year has been completed. Based on the results, 13 audit reports were recognized as compliant with comments, and 1 report was found non-compliant with state audit and financial control standards (8 reports from 2024 and 6 from 2025).
