Preparation for the upcoming harvesting campaign

Kostanay region told about the preparation for the upcoming harvesting campaign, the level of precipitation and the state of grain. The agricultural council on the issues of harvesting this year was held by the akim of the region Archimedes Mukhambetov.
This year, 4 million 853 thousand hectares were sown in the region with spring crops, of which 3 million 957 thousand hectares were sown with grain.
"Taking into account the increased demand in the market, agricultural formations have significantly increased the area of cultivation of oilseeds this year - 748 thousand hectares have been sown, which is 141 thousand hectares more than last year. Special attention is paid to socially significant crops, their cultivation area is also larger than the level of 2021: buckwheat – 16.1 thousand hectares, potatoes with a population of 9.3 thousand hectares, vegetables with a population of 2.7 thousand hectares. Fodder crops of the current year occupy 134.7 thousand hectares, in total, taking into account the perennial grasses of previous years, 509.8 thousand. ga", - the head of the Department of Agriculture and Land Relations of Kostanay region Timur Bisimbayev said at the meeting.
In the region this year, there is also an exceeded level of precipitation in May-June, immediately after the sowing season. In May, 3.6 times more precipitation fell than the previous year. In June, it was 3 times more than in the same period last year. But in July, on the contrary, it is lower than this month last year.
"Today, 60% of grain crops or 2.4 million hectares are in good condition, 40% or 1.6 million hectares are in satisfactory condition. For oilseeds – in good condition 60%, satisfactory 40%. The preliminary yield of grain is planned to be over 11 c per ha, the yield of oilseeds is over 6 c per ha," T. Bisimbayev noted.
In general, 44.8 billion tenge of subsidies and budget loans have been allocated to the region for the development of the agro-industrial complex this year, 32.4 billion tenge for spring field and harvesting works. Also, 182 applications of agro-industrial complex entities in the amount of 31.1 billion tenge were financed through JSC "Food Corporation" under the program of forward purchase of agricultural products. It is planned to deliver 494 thousand tons of agricultural products.
This year, the agricultural machinery park in Kostanay region is planned to be updated by 3.4%. Now the existing machine and tractor fleet of the region is almost completely ready for the harvesting campaign.
To date, there are 22.6 thousand tractors, 9 thousand combine harvesters, 3.1 thousand roller harvesters, 8.1 thousand trucks and other agricultural machinery in the region.
"This year, the farms of the region have purchased 150 tractors, more than 50 combines and more than 400 units of other agricultural machinery. In 2022, it is planned to reach an upgrade level of 3.4%. The readiness of the machine and tractor park of the region for autumn field work this year is 98%," Head of the regional agricultural administration Timur Bisimbayev said during a meeting on the harvesting campaign.
Also, 77 thousand tons of diesel fuel were allocated to agricultural producers of the region for autumn field work. The selling price of diesel fuel, as assured in the relevant department, will not exceed 218 tenge per liter. Now the operators are working on the supply of August volumes of diesel fuel from the refinery.
- Weather conditions are more favorable this year. This has had a positive impact on the condition of crops, but much will depend on weather conditions during the harvesting period.
Also, this year the weather conditions were favorable for the growth of grasses, haymaking. It is necessary to ensure the collection of feeds of all kinds - coarse, juicy, forage. All the conditions for this are available. In the near future, we face these two most important tasks – to prepare feed, to conduct a harvesting campaign in a timely manner, without losses," summed up Akim of Kostanay region Archimedes Mukhambetov.
