Constructive dialogue to resolve trade issues

At the industry council on trade issues of the Chamber of Entrepreneurs of the Kostanay region, important issues related to the sale of alcoholic beverages in convenience stores, as well as prices for socially significant products, were discussed.

In the run-up to the council, a group of owners of such stores approached the Chamber with a request to clarify the issues that concern them.

As part of the industry council, the first deputy head of the DP of the Kostanay region, Aleksey Milyuk, shared statistics on alcohol crime, which increased by more than 15% last year. More than five thousand retail outlets selling alcohol are registered in the region, of which about 300 were brought to administrative responsibility for the illegal sale of alcohol.

The police proposed creating special liquor stores with digital control over the sale of alcoholic beverages. This initiative must go through several stages, including discussions, while the opinion of businesses will be taken into account.

Entrepreneurs also made counter-proposals. For example, Lyudmila Antonyan proposed to return personal liability of sellers for illegal sale of alcohol.

As a result of the council, it was decided to create an initiative group to solve problematic issues of trade within the framework of a constructive dialogue between law enforcement agencies and entrepreneurs.
