This was announced by Daniyar Smagulov, First Deputy Head of the Anti-Corruption Agency Department in Kostanay region, during an online briefing held at the Anti-Corruption Center.
"As you know, the Department implements the Rules for Encouraging persons who have reported the fact of a corruption offense or otherwise assist in combating corruption. This year, 6 people applied to the Department, who received diplomas and were encouraged for a total amount of about 2.5 million tenge," the speaker said during the event.
Recall that at the end of last year, the Decree of the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan adopted amendments to the Rules for Encouraging Persons who reported the fact of a corruption offense or otherwise assist in combating corruption. According to the experience of OECD countries, the amount of remuneration has become differentiated. Now, for reporting a corruption offense for which the amount of a bribe or damage caused exceeds 1000 MCI, the remuneration is 10 percent of the specified amount, but not more than 4000 MCI.
According to the representative of the Anti-Corruption Service, the increase in the amount of financial incentives for providing information or otherwise assisting in the identification, suppression, disclosure and investigation of corruption crimes is aimed at activating the civic position of the population in the fight against corruption.
