The Ministry of Digital Development, Innovation and Aerospace Industry and the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Kazakhstan, in order to control the spread of coronavirus infection and timely localization of foci of infection, have presented the Saqbol mobile application.
The application allows a citizen with a positive test for COVID-19, activating the notification function, to anonymously alert other users of the application about contact with him within the last 14 days at a distance of less than two meters and for more than 15 minutes.
The storage of records of interactions with other devices will also be encrypted.
To use the "Saqbol" application, you need to download it to your smartphone and turn on the Bluetooth function, through which encrypted data will be transmitted. The app is available on IOS and Android.
According to Bagdat Musin, the application will allow timely notifying citizens of the possible risk of infection and will significantly reduce the spread of infection.
“I urge people from Kazakhstan to actively use this application, to show awareness and responsibility. Thus, we will be able to localize the foci as much as possible and prevent the spread of Covid-19. We understand the responsibility to the population and have created the application in such a way that all personal data is encrypted, this application ensures the absolute anonymity of users ”- comments Bagdat Musin, Minister of Digital Development, Innovation and Aerospace Industry of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
“The application works to anonymously track contacts with other devices on which the same program is installed. Registration is not required to use it. Since the application does not collect or send any personal data or location data. When a notification is activated, the program automatically and anonymously notifies other users about it. Thus, this application will help raise the alertness of citizens and promptly notify them of contacts with infected people, ”added Alexey Tsoi, Minister of Health of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
Users who have received a notification can familiarize themselves with the recommendations of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Kazakhstan on further actions in the application.
In addition, for the convenience of users, such services as the official COVID-19 self-diagnosis bot, i-Doctor, i-Teka, as well as up-to-date COVID-19 statistics for Kazakhstan are integrated into the application.
