There are many examples of people simply not knowing how to distinguish corruption from illegal actions. In addition, citizens often accuse the authorities, businessmen and entrepreneurs, and other persons who violate their rights, being outside the field of anti-corruption legislation.
Of course, the anti-corruption service takes all-round measures to improve the legal literacy of the population, to inform every citizen about the development of the principle of zero tolerance for corruption. As part of the activity, round tables, dialogue platforms, forums and conferences were held, but still, not everyone knows how to protect themselves from corruption attacks.
Let's start with what is corruption? Corruption is the illegal use by individuals of their official or official powers and related opportunities in order to obtain or extract, whether personally or through intermediaries, property or non-property benefits and advantages for themselves or third parties, in General, in other words, banal bribery.
So, if you become aware of illegal actions being prepared or committed, violations, abuse of authority by officials, you need to contact the anti-corruption service at the call center number 1424, or the duty unit 914 - 222.
Many citizens are hesitant to report corruption due to their reluctance to disclose their identity and public censure from their relatives, etc. However, when reporting this, every citizen should remember that in the process of obtaining information, a strict confidentiality regime is observed and that it is important that the person who reported the fact of corruption or otherwise contributes to the fight against it is protected by the state.
In addition, a citizen who reported the facts of corruption or otherwise provides assistance in combating corruption can receive a one-time monetary remuneration.for this purpose, the law provides special rules for encouraging persons whose financing is made at the expense of the national budget.
Today, the amount of remuneration is differentiated, as in most OECD countries. Thus, the remuneration for reporting a bribe that does not exceed one thousand MCI is:
- on administrative cases of corruption offenses – 30 MCI
- in criminal cases of minor corruption offences-40 MCI;
- in criminal cases of corruption crimes of medium gravity-50 MCI;
- in criminal cases of serious corruption crimes-70 MCI;
- in criminal cases of particularly serious corruption crimes-100 MCI.
At the same time, if the amount of the bribe exceeds one thousand MCI, a one-time monetary reward is 10% of the amount of the bribe. The maximum amount of remuneration is 4 thousand MCI.
What are the conditions for promotion you need to follow?
