Kostanay region has retained the status of the main breadbasket of the country for decades. But at the same time, following the instructions of the President of the country, other branches of agriculture are actively developing here. The state policy on the rise of the village, which, by the way, is home to about 45% of Kazakhstanis, has given concrete results.
Local farmers intend to feed the country not only with bread. Farmers began to develop animal husbandry as well. In the region, 7 fattening sites and 13 farms of reproducers have been opened, which will sell breeding young animals in the future. Another 36 enterprises are engaged in meat processing. Among them is the complex launched in 2010 under the program of forced industrialization. It works according to the principle: they raised their own cattle, made their own products and sold them themselves. The project cost 1 billion 222 million tenge. It should pay off in 5 years.
Modern technologies have not spared fruit and vegetable fields. Drip irrigation systems have appeared here. Their use allows you to increase productivity, significantly reduce the cost of production, respectively, and the price of vegetables.
This year, more than 13.5 thousand hectares of land have been sown with fruit and vegetable products in the region, which is 215 hectares more than in 2012. Stocks, taking into account the construction of vegetable storages, should be enough for the entire region. And the region has completely closed its market with meat and milk. By 2016, the Kostanay region intends to produce 2,200 tons of export meat.
