On October 3, 2024, a round table was held at the site of the Ministry of Industry and Construction of the Republic of Kazakhstan on the introduction of information modeling technology for construction facilities (TIMSO) in Kazakhstan. The event brought together project managers for the implementation of BIM technology in construction and design organizations.
The round table was opened by Vice Minister of Industry and Construction of the Republic of Kazakhstan Zhannat Dubirova. In her opening speech, she stressed the importance of digitalization in order to manage processes in the life cycle of construction projects and the use of BIM technologies to improve the quality and efficiency of the construction process in the country.
Alexander Shakhnovich, Managing Director for Development and Digitalization of Kazakh Scientific Research Institute of Construction and Architecture JSC, presented a report on the topic "Updating the concept of TIMSO implementation". He focused on the methodological aspects of TIMSO and the challenges faced by the construction industry in Kazakhstan. Other reports covered the topics of BIM application in the private sector, including the experience of the Engineering Center Ltd. company, as well as the practice of information model expertise developed at the RSE Gosexpertiza. The participants actively exchanged views, which contributed to a deeper understanding of the possibilities of implementing information modeling technologies, and expressed support for the revision of the Concept of introducing TIMSO into the construction industry of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
At the end of the round table, a question and answer session was held, which made it possible to clarify important aspects and strengthen cooperation between government agencies and the private sector in the construction industry.
