St. Nicholas Church is located in the village of Presnogorkovka, Uzunkolsky district. The Church was founded in 1766.
One of the few churches of the beginning of the XIX century, preserved on the territory of Northern Kazakhstan. The stone Church "had two chapels – in the name of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker and the Kazan mother of God, summer and winter, surrounded by a wooden fence." During construction, a special solution was used – with the addition of egg white and alabaster. The Church had a rich cemetery, including the graves of high-ranking officials of the tsarist colonial administration.
In the 1920s, the Church was completely looted. In 1935, the Church was closed by the decision of a gathering of villagers and turned into a warehouse for storing grain.
In the summer of 2005, the Church was restored. No matter how the Soviet government destroyed the temple, it did not succeed. The Shrine survived, and in 2005 the entire world began to restore the Church.
St. Nicholas Church is special, it is "imbued" with an unusual spirit of the time. Local old-timers say that an underground passage leading to the temple is hidden near the lakes.
