Amantegi near the village of Amangeldy district, close to the river Karynsaldy kutana is the mausoleum of Aulie. The mausoleum was reconstructed several times. The descendants of the Saint built a brick Mazar on the site of the tombstone in 1977. In 2008, a new mausoleum was built. Not far from the grave is a small house where travelers can stop for the night and worship the ashes of the deceased.
Kutan Atalykuly (1690-1780) was considered a Saint by his people (Aulie), who had the gift of foresight. He was a man of wisdom, intelligence, and insight. It is no accident that popular rumor claims that he was a member of the Council of Ablai Khan. The homeland of kutan Aulie is the foothills of Ulytau. In the Torgai steppes, he roamed with his village. It was here that death overtook him.
There is a legend that before his death, he bequeathed to be put on a camel and where this camel will make a stop, to bury his ashes. Relatives fulfilled the last will of the deceased. The caravan went for a long time on the steppe, until the camel knelt to the ground and stopped at the place where the burial of kutan Aulie is now located. Even after almost two hundred years after his death, people continue to believe in his supernatural power. Pilgrims are drawn to the burial site of kutan Aulie in the hope of getting rid of ailments.
