It was founded on December 9, 1969 by order of the Council of Ministers of the KAZ SSR. It was located in a small Adobe house on the street. Sovetskaya (now Dulatov street). Tashim Kusainov was appointed the first Director of the Museum. In 1976, on the initiative of the district party Committee, the district Executive Committee, with the support of the regional party Committee and the workers of our district, a new rear building was commissioned, which is located at 17 B. Maylin street.the Museum Building is two-story, consists of 5 exhibition and 1 Assembly halls, 4 workrooms and a storage facility. The total area of the Museum-exposition is 297.4 square meters, the hall is 400 square meters. metres'.
According to its profile, the Museum belongs to the memorial, dedicated to the life and work of A. Imanov – the leader of the national liberation uprising in Torgay in 1916-1917.as well as his associates. The 5th hall of the Museum is dedicated to the history of the district
The Museum operates on the basis of long-term plans approved by the Founder, in accordance with plans for the implementation of state programs and other plans. Museum items accepted into the Museum Fund are subject to scientific examination and registered in a special book.
