As part of the 42nd step of the National Plan-100 concrete steps, the Republic of Kazakhstan provides for a universal tax declaration of income and expenses, which will allow controlling the income and property of individuals.
Universal declaration will be carried out in stages, first for civil servants, followed by a transition for all citizens.
So, since January 1 of this year, the declaration has already been submitted by civil servants and persons equated to them and their spouses.
From January 1, 2023, employees of state institutions and the quasi-public sector and their spouses will be declared.
Then, starting from January 1, 2024, declaration will be introduced for managers and founders of legal entities, as well as individual entrepreneurs and their spouses. And from January 1, 2025-the remaining categories of citizens.
Such a control system is aimed at combating the shadow economy and corruption, and also contributes to ensuring additional budget revenues. At the same time, in order to reduce the tax base, individuals will be able to apply social tax deductions. This will allow citizens to reduce the amount of their income tax if there are corresponding expenses.
