In Kostanay region, the volunteer movement is coordinated by the regional front office at the regional youth resource center. The front office and volunteer headquarters are located in the MRC buildings.

The MRC buildings provide areas for the gathering and work of volunteer movements and initiative groups.

In total, 63 volunteer initiative groups operate in the region, including 11 NGO-based volunteer movements. Volunteer movements involving 3,264 people operate in 6 universities and the Academy of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. There are 34 volunteer groups in organizations of technical and vocational, post-secondary education, covering 11,850 students.

Search and rescue teams "Dos", "Region-10", "Bars" and others are actively working in the region.

In order to support the development of volunteerism in the region, 12 projects are being implemented. In particular, the regional youth resource center has been implementing the project "Promotion of volunteerism in Kostanay region" since 2017.

The purpose of the project is to organize a set of measures to popularize and promote the volunteer movement among the youth of Kostanay region. Within the framework of the project "Promotion and support of volunteerism in Kostanay region", a methodological guide for the participation of volunteers in emergency mode and a standard of volunteerism have been developed. In addition, on the basis of the regional resource center, the activities of the volunteer center are organized, the tasks of which include: organizing events to increase the potential of volunteer organizations, holding a competition for volunteers, and developing industry volunteerism.
