Energy complex
Electricity consumption in the region for the 1st quarter of 2020 amounted to 1294.9 million kWh, which is 0.5% higher compared to the same period last year (1287.7 million kWh).
The volume of electricity generated by the region’s own sources for the current period amounted to 312.0 million kWh, which is 19.2% higher compared to the same period last year (261.7 million kWh). An increase in the volume of electric energy production occurs due to an increase in the volume of electric energy generated for own needs of the Rudnenskaya TPP.
Gas supply
In the region, out of 529 settlements, 70 are provided with natural gas, including: the cities of Kostanay, Rudny, Lisakovsk, Zhitikara and part of the villages of Altynsarinsky, Auliekolsky, Zhitikarinsky, Denisovsky, Karabalyksky, Kostanaysky, B. Maylin, Kamystinsky, Fedorovsky districts.
The total length of the region’s gas distribution pipelines as of April 1, 2020 is 3,907.5 km.
The volume of natural gas consumption in the 1st quarter of 2020 decreased compared to the previous year (324.1 million cubic meters) by 6.7% and amounted to 302.3 million cubic meters. The decrease in consumption is associated with a decrease in gas consumption for the generation of thermal energy in the region's heat sources.
In 2020, 1,790.8 million tenge was allocated from the republican and regional budgets for gasification projects (RB - 1,337.2 million tenge, MB - 453.6 million tenge).

The implementation of 3 construction projects for high pressure gas supply pipelines continues: Kamysty-Altynsarino of the Kamystinsky district, from the gas distribution station of the village of Auliekol to the village of Kushmurun with the connection of the village of Chernigovka of the Auliekolsky region, to the village of Sheminovka and the village of Ozernoye, Kostanai district.

Also, at the expense of the regional budget, development of the projects “Construction of gas distribution networks in the village of Kushmurun in Auliekolsky district”, “Construction of gas distribution networks in the village Altynsarino of the Kamystinsky district "," Construction of a gas supply pipeline from the gas distribution station of the village of Auliekol to s. Dievka with connection s. Novoselovka Auliekolsky district ".
Project implementation incl. will increase the general access to central gas supply to 571 thousand people, or 65.8%, and increase the number of gasified settlements to 72 units. (or 13.6%).
Water supply and sanitation
As of April 1, 2020, out of 529 settlements, 183 settlements (34.6%) are provided with centralized water supply from group and local water pipelines, drinking water is delivered in 30 settlements (5.7%), 316 settlements (59 , 7%) are provided with water from decentralized water supply sources (wells, wells).
Under the “Nurly Zher for 2020-2025” program for 2020, funds were allocated from the republican and local budgets in the amount of 10.2 billion tenge for the implementation of 36 water supply and sanitation projects (10 - urban, 26-rural).
In general, the implementation of 26 rural water supply projects will make it possible for the first time to provide centralized water supply to 34 villages (30.5 thousand people), to improve water supply in 6 villages (18.1 thousand people).
By the end of 2020, it is planned to commission 13 rural water supply facilities, which will improve water supply for 3 villages or 12.7 thousand people, for the first time connect 14 villages or 10.5 thousand people to the water supply system, while the provision of villages in the region is centralized water supply system will increase from 33.5% to 36.1% (from 174 villages to 188).
For the purpose of further work on water supply to settlements, 40 projects on rural water supply are being developed (estimated cost 33.7 billion tenge), within the framework of which water supply will be improved in 6 villages (20.7 thousand people), 39 villages (38.4 thousand people) will be connected for the first time to centralized water supply, 22 villages (12.9 thousand people) have built water treatment and distribution points.
