On January 24, 2022, a meeting was held in the Kostanay region with the participation of representatives of the business sector of the region on the implementation of the practical mechanisms of the draft Anti-Corruption Policy Concept.
The meeting was chaired by the First Deputy Akim of the Kostanay region Gauez Nurmukhambetov and acting. Serikzhan Myrzaly, Head of the Department of the Anti-Corruption Agency of the Republic of Kazakhstan in the Kostanay region.
Along with the subjects of large, small and medium-sized businesses of the region, representatives of control and supervisory bodies, akims of cities and districts, heads of regional departments, as well as public organizations, and deputies of maslikhats took part in the conference.
During the meeting, the participants discussed current legislative innovations in the field of combating corruption, implementing public procurement, providing public services, as well as ensuring public control as part of the implementation of the “Listening State” concept.
As part of the meeting, the interim Serikzhan Myrzaly, head of the Anti-Corruption Service, drew the attention of the conference participants to the importance of the participation of the entire civil society in combating corruption, noting the special role of representatives of the business sector. According to him, close interaction between government agencies and business will allow in the future to more effectively eliminate the causes and conditions for the emergence of corruption.
Local entrepreneurs, in turn, noted that the Anti-Corruption Policy Concept contains a number of key areas, the most important of which are measures aimed at protecting the rights and legitimate interests of business.
At the same time, the entrepreneurs of the region made a number of proposals to the draft Concept, including in terms of ensuring the transparency of the work of state bodies when interacting with both large businesses and small and medium-sized businesses.
Recall that last week the Head of State Kassym-Jomart Tokayev held a meeting with representatives of domestic business. In his speech, the President noted the need to discuss the current situation in the country and outline ways of interaction between government and business for the benefit of the people, and also instructed to discuss in detail the draft Anti-Corruption Policy Concept for the next 5 years with the business community.
