This became possible thanks to a memorandum signed the day before between the regional Akimat and the Department of the Anti-Corruption Agency in the Kostanay region.
The main purpose of the document is to approve the Standard Regulation of Compliance Services, developed on the basis of international best practices and recommendations from public experts.
"If ten years ago compliance was actively developing mainly in the banking sector or financial spheres, now various state bodies, quasi-state and private companies are interested in compliance issues, which see compliance as an important tool for monitoring and improving their activities," the first deputy head of the Department for anti-corruption Daniyar Smagulov, according to him, the memorandum reflects the coordinating role of the Anti-Corruption Service in the creation and methodological support of compliance services.
Let us recall that earlier the Head of State instructed to continue the effective fight against corruption, as well as to increase the transparency and accountability of the subjects of the quasi-public sector.
One of the key directions in the prevention of corruption offenses in this matter is the introduction last year of the institution of anti-corruption compliance and the expansion of the circle of workers in the quasi-public sector who are subjects of corruption.
In accordance with the Law "On Combating Corruption" in the subjects of the quasi-public sector, structural units are determined that perform the functions of anti-corruption compliance services, the main task of which is to ensure that the relevant organization and its employees comply with anti-corruption legislation.
Today, there are about 300 subjects of the quasi-public sector in the region, each of which has specialists endowed with the functions of compliance officers.
It is expected that the adoption of the Model Regulations for Compliance Services in the organizations of the region will speed up the alignment of relevant business processes in accordance with current international standards in the field of preventing corruption risks and optimizing the internal control system.
