This was announced by Daniyar Smagulov, First Deputy Head of the Department of the Anti-Corruption Agency in the Kostanay region, during an online briefing held at the Anticor Center site.
"As you know, the Department implements the Rules for encouraging persons who reported the fact of a corruption offense or otherwise providing assistance in combating corruption. This year, 6 people applied to the Department, who received certificates and were rewarded for a total amount of about 2.5 million tenge." - said the speaker during the event.
Recall that at the end of last year, by the Decree of the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan, amendments were adopted to the Rules for encouraging persons who reported the fact of a corruption offense or otherwise assisted in combating corruption. According to the experience of OECD countries, the amount of remuneration has become differentiated. Now, for reporting a corruption offense for which the amount of a bribe or damage caused exceeds 1000 MCI, the remuneration is 10 percent of the specified amount, but not more than 4000 MCI.
According to a representative of the Anti-Corruption Service, an increase in the amount of financial incentives for providing information or otherwise providing assistance in identifying, suppressing, disclosing and investigating corruption crimes is aimed at enhancing the civil position of the population in the fight against corruption.
