Every year on February 4, the World Cancer Day is celebrated. This day was established by the International Union against Cancer in order to attract the widest possible attention of the world community to the problem of the emergence of oncology.
Cancer is a common name for a whole group of diseases that can affect any organs and systems of the human body. A characteristic feature of this disease is the rapid multiplication of abnormal cells that grow beyond their usual boundaries and are able to penetrate into surrounding tissues, and can also move to other organs, in other words, metastasize.
According to WHO, cancer is one of the leading causes of death in the world. The most common types of cancer are breast cancer, lung cancer, colon and rectal cancer, prostate cancer, skin cancer and stomach cancer.
About 36 thousand new cases of oncology are registered annually in Kazakhstan, and about 14 thousand people die.
In order to detect the disease at an early stage, National screening programs have been introduced in our country, such modern methods of diagnosis and treatment as molecular genetic studies, targeted therapy, high-tech radiation and chemotherapy, immunohistochemical studies, immunotherapy, as well as minimally invasive, laparoscopic, organ-preserving operations are used.
It should be noted that for Kazakhstanis, 3 types of cancer screenings are carried out completely free of charge: cervical cancer screening, breast cancer screening and colorectal cancer screening.
Earlier detection and treatment of cancers can reduce mortality.
In addition, there are various ways to prevent the development of cancer. These include: refusal to use tobacco, a healthy diet, including vegetables and fruits, refusal from harmful alcohol consumption, maintaining a healthy body weight, exclusion of ultraviolet radiation, vaccination, representatives of certain population groups against HPV and hepatitis In, etc.
Take care of yourself and your family! Be healthy!
President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev spoke at a meeting of the Majilis of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan today.
During his speech, the President noted that social justice remains the most important issue. The Head of State recalled that Kazakhstan is a social state under the Constitution.
"Today I am instructing to create a public social fund "Kazakhstan Khalkyna". He will be engaged in solving real problems in the field of healthcare, education, and social support.
For example, helping children with rare diseases. After all, for most families, the cost of treatment is simply unaffordable.
We will build sports facilities for children in cities, districts, towns, villages. We will assist capable children. Let's support the culture. We will help Almaty recover from a terrible tragedy. From the funds of this Fund, we will support the families of the deceased policemen and servicemen.
And these are just some examples.
I would like to emphasize that this is not a foundation of the President, the Government or any other state body. This is the fund of all Kazakhstanis, the People's Fund.
It will not function under the Administration or the Government.
An authoritative supervisory board will be created, an honest and responsible head will be appointed. We will ensure full transparency of its activities, accountability and accountability to society," Kassym-Jomart Tokayev said.

At a Government meeting today, Acting Minister of Health Zhandos Burkitbayev reported on the epidemiological situation in the country.
Zh. Burkitbayev said that the coronavirus epidemic situation in Kazakhstan is stable. He also noted that the incidence of coronavirus has decreased by 32% over the past two weeks.
To date, 15 regions of the country are in the green zone, the North Kazakhstan region and the city of Nur-Sultan are in the yellow zone, there are no regions in the red zone.
Vaccination of the population of the Republic of Kazakhstan against COVID-19 continues.
The coverage of the subject adult population by the first component was 78.6%, the second component was 74.4% of the subject adult population.
The Acting Minister of Health stressed the need to increase the rate of vaccination of the population, taking into account the increase in morbidity and the spread of the omicron strain in the world, and also noted that it is necessary to complete the vaccination of the subject population.
He added that since the beginning of vaccination, 95% of cases have been unvaccinated.
At the same time, according to the results of a number of foreign studies in vaccinated people, protection from infection decreases after 6 months by an average of 1.8 times.
At present, it is important to maintain the stability of the current CVI surveillance situation.
In addition, from December to the 1st quarter of 2022, it is planned to supply 5.0 million doses of the vaccine.
During his speech, Zhandos Burkitbayev proposed to strengthen additional preventive measures from January 5, 2022 in terms of allowing entry to shopping and entertainment centers, trading houses, retail chains, sports and wellness centers and fitness centers, yoga centers, karaoke, swimming pools, saunas, baths, banks, branches of Kazpost JSC, PSC only to persons with green status according to the ASHYQ application.
Today, at a meeting of the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan, First Vice Minister of Health Marat Shoranov said that the interdepartmental commission decided to introduce some restrictions in Kazakhstan from December 3 this year in order to prevent the import and spread of a new variant of the strain of coronavirus infection "Omicron".
The following measures were taken by the decision of the Ministry of Internal Affairs:
- restrict entry to Kazakhstan of foreign citizens from Botswana, South Africa, Lesotho, Namibia, Zimbabwe, Mozambique, Malawi, Madagascar, Eswatini, Tanzania and Hong Kong;
- to introduce a mandatory PCR test, regardless of vaccination, for persons arriving from countries where cases of CVI caused by the Omicron variant have been detected: to date, these are Israel, the Czech Republic, the Netherlands, Belgium, Great Britain, Italy, Germany, Australia, Canada and Egypt;
- persons arriving from countries where cases of CVI caused by Omicron have been detected, regardless of the result of the PCR test, should self-isolate for 7 days (home quarantine);
- taking into account the passenger traffic with Egypt (November more than 13 thousand people) and the detection in Belgium of a case of CVI caused by Omicron in a person arriving from Egypt, suspend air traffic with Egypt;
- continue sequencing of coronavirus infection strains circulating in the Republic of Kazakhstan.
According to preliminary WHO data, the omicrom strain is more dangerous than the Delta version and spreads faster.
These restrictive measures will come into force on December 3, 2021.
By the resolution of the Chief State Sanitary Doctor of the Republic of Kazakhstan dated October 20, 2021, the methodological recommendations "Vaccination of the population against coronavirus infection with the mRNA vaccine "Komirnati" (Pfizer, USA) in the Republic of Kazakhstan" were approved.
These guidelines determine the procedure for vaccination against coronavirus infection.
Komirnati is an mRNA-based vaccine against CVI (modified with nucleosides) for the prevention of coronavirus infection caused by SARS-CoV-2. "Komirnati" does not contain a virus for the development of immune protection, it cannot cause an infection of CVI.
One bottle contains 6 doses of 0.3 ml after dilution.
1 dose (0.3 ml) contains 30 micrograms of vaccine against CVI (BNT162b2) based on mRNA (encapsulated in lipid nanoparticles) and excipients.
Transparent multi-dose bottle with a capacity of 2 ml, capped with a stopper and compressed with an aluminum cap with a plastic cap of the "flip-off" type.
The following persons are subject to vaccination against CVI:
- teenagers aged 12 years and older;
- pregnant women - from 16 to 37 weeks of pregnancy;
- women during lactation - after the end of the postpartum period (after 42 days).
Before vaccination, the examination for the presence of CVI and antibodies to coronavirus is not carried out.
Those who have had CVI are subject to vaccination against CVI 6 months after recovery, taking into account the assessment of the condition before vaccination. Vaccination of those who have been ill with CVI is allowed 3 months after recovery.
One of the important elements in the vaccination of the population is the preservation of the immunogenicity of vaccines throughout its transportation and storage, since the final effectiveness of immunization depends on this factor.
Filling of the refrigeration equipment with the vaccine is carried out taking into account the shelf life of the drugs. At the same time, vaccines with a shorter shelf life are released or used in the first place.
The shelf life of unopened, frozen vials is 9 months from the date of production only at temperatures from minus 90 °C to minus 60 °C.
When the vaccine is switched from a temperature regime from minus 90 °C to minus 60 °C (freezing level) to a temperature regime from plus 2 °C to plus 8 °C (defrosting level), the shelf life of the vaccine is 31 days from the date and time of transition.
During the shelf life of 9 months, unopened vials can be stored and transported at temperatures from minus 25°C to minus 15°C for a single period of up to 2 weeks, and then placed back in storage conditions at temperatures from minus 90 °C to minus 60 °C.
The vaccine is stored in its original packaging to protect it from light.
It is ensured that there is an emergency plan in case of a power outage with instructions on the actions of all persons involved in the storage, transportation and use of the vaccine.

The Committee of Medical and Pharmaceutical Control of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Kazakhstan held public hearings on the analysis of regulatory impact on the introduction of mandatory labeling and traceability of medicines.
As the chairman of the Committee Bauyrzhan Baiserkin noted, the assignment of a digital code to each package of medicines is aimed at reducing the shadow turnover of medicines in the country, increasing the availability of high-quality and safe drugs for the population.
The pilot project on the introduction of labeling and traceability of medicines, which ended in Kazakhstan on July 31, was attended by 23 participants of the pharmaceutical industry, among them manufacturers, distributors, medical and pharmacy organizations. 18 trade names of drugs were marked with the Data Matrix code and went all the way from the manufacturer or importer to the sale, including Trastuzumab, Ketotifen, Natalcide, Etherenz and others.
"During the pilot, all the main business processes of drug labeling were studied. All participants of the pilot project were registered in the labeling system, as well as in the National Catalog of Goods, were trained in the mechanisms and functionality of the project. Based on business proposals, decisions were made in the pilot to improve drug labeling processes," Deputy Chairman of the Committee Saule Yerzhanova announced during the hearing.
According to her, the main problematic issues of the pharmaceutical industry of the republic are illegal drug trafficking, lack of control over their traceability in retail, monitoring of the movement of medicines, especially those purchased at the expense of budgetary funds. Digital labeling can be an effective solution.
It is planned to implement the project in our country in several stages: from July 2022 to July 2023.
The participants of the discussion, in turn, voiced their proposals on the project of digital labeling of medicines. Issues related to the integration of entrepreneurs' systems with the labeling system, measures of state support were discussed in detail.
During the discussion of the results of the regulatory impact analysis, the developer took into account all suggestions and comments.
In addition, representatives of the pharmaceutical business community had several interesting proposals, for example, it was proposed to provide free access to participants in the circulation of medicines to track the movement of their medicines in real time, as well as to consider the possibility of importing unmarked medicines after the introduction of mandatory labeling, if necessary by decision of the authorized body, by making a collegial decision or by any other mechanism provided by law, etc.
At the end of the public discussion, the management of the Committee thanked everyone for their active participation and took into account all the suggestions and comments made.
