The customs authorities of Kazakhstan and the UAE have agreed to expand their strategic partnership and launch new initiatives: focus on digitalization, transparency and trust

A bilateral meeting was held in Astana today between Chairman of the State Revenue Committee of the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Kazakhstan Duisembiev Zhandos and Director General of the Abu Dhabi Customs Administration Mr. Rashed Lahej Al-Mansouri.
The meeting was a significant step towards expanding practical cooperation in the field of digital customs administration and strengthening regional logistics integration.
The Kazakh side highly appreciated the progressive experience of the UAE customs authorities in the field of automation, risk management and transformation of business processes.
During the negotiations, it was emphasized that Kazakhstan is ready to implement the best practices of the Emirates within the framework of national reforms and become a reliable partner in promoting regional digital logistics.
The main agreements and vectors of cooperation are piloting the electronic exchange of customs data, developing risk profiles for priority product categories, using predictive analytics technologies.
The parties discussed steps to create a digital transit route connecting Kazakhstan's logistics hubs with UAE ports.
The Abu Dhabi Customs Administration has proposed to hold a series of expert workshops and internships for SRC specialists, including on artificial intelligence systems and contactless customs control.
An agreement has been reached to launch exchange programs between the training centers in order to train specialists focused on international digital standards (post-monitoring, big data analysis).
"Our cooperation is not only the exchange of best practices, but also the joint development of new solutions. Today's meeting demonstrated the high level of trust between our customs services and the mutual focus on concrete results," Duisembiev Zhandos emphasized.
The parties expressed their willingness to strengthen coordination within the WCO and other international platforms to promote joint interests in the field of digital commerce and cross-border simplification of procedures. This will create the basis for mutual recognition of control and accelerated clearance of goods, as well as for realizing the potential of the transport and logistics infrastructure.
