In order to ensure a balance of interests of the budget and car owners, the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan adopted Resolution No. 306 dated May 20, 2020.
This decree of the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan provides an opportunity to register "Armenian" cars imported into the country before February 1, 2020, with payment of a fee for their registration (695 tenge) and state duties for the production of a state number of "yellow" color and a technical passport (about 12 thousand tenge in total).
The specified category of car owners will be exempt from payments in the form of customs duty, primary registration fee and recycling fee.
These payments will be charged only if the vehicle is registered on a "permanent" basis in Kazakhstan.
At the same time, car owners are given the opportunity to operate vehicles until they are completely worn out with a ban on alienation of ownership rights.
In addition, it provides for the obligation of car owners to pay an annual transport tax in Kazakhstan and pass a technical inspection.
In turn, the "Armenian" license plates and technical passports will be stored in public service centers, which can be returned to car owners in cases when they make decisions to export the vehicle outside the country.
Vehicles imported into the country after February 1, 2020, are subject to registration in accordance with the established procedure with payment of due fees, customs duties and taxes, otherwise their owners will be held liable under the legislation.
