The Department of State Revenue for the Zhetisu Region reminds businesses of the necessity to strictly comply with the legislative requirements of the Republic of Kazakhstan when selling alcoholic products.
Since the beginning of 2026, the Department of State Revenue for the Zhetisu Region has referred 55 cases to the judicial authorities regarding violations of Article 200 of the Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan "On Administrative Offenses." These violations involve the sale of alcoholic products in breach of established restrictions regarding the buyer's age and permitted sales hours.
Following the review of these cases, the licenses to sell alcoholic products were revoked for 6 business entities due to repeated administrative offenses. Additionally, targeted tax audits were conducted for 9 business entities, uncovering instances of storing and selling alcoholic products without the required license. As a result, 282 liters of illicit alcoholic products were seized from illegal circulation.
Instances of selling alcoholic products during periods of license suspension have also been detected. Please be reminded that operating without the legal right to sell alcoholic products constitutes a violation of the laws of the Republic of Kazakhstan and carries administrative liability, up to and including the revocation of the license.
In accordance with Article 200 of the Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan "On Administrative Offenses," it is prohibited to:
* Sell alcoholic products to individuals under the age of 21;
* Engage in the retail sale of alcoholic products (excluding restaurants, bars, cafes, and other exceptions provided by law) during the following hours:
* From 23:00 to 08:00 the following day;
* For alcoholic products with an ethyl alcohol content exceeding 30% — from 21:00 to 12:00 the following day.
The aforementioned violations are subject to administrative fines, license suspension, and, in the event of a repeated offense within a year, the total revocation of the license.
To prevent violations, the Department of State Revenue for the Zhetisu Region recommends that businesses:
* Verify the buyer's age in case of doubt and demand a valid identification document;
* Strictly adhere to the legally established hours for selling alcoholic products;
* Refrain from storing and selling alcoholic products during any period of license suspension.
The Department of State Revenue for the Zhetisu Region urges all business entities to conduct their activities in strict compliance with the legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
